1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using UniversalCodeMaker.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all terms and conditions, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Use of Generated Files

UniversalCodeMaker currently does not charge a subscription, export fee, or royalty for files created with the Service. This permission does not grant rights in the content you encode, assigned identifiers, logos, trademarks, or third-party data formats.

• No Service Royalty: The Service does not currently charge a royalty based on your use of a generated file.
• Commercial Use: The Service does not prohibit commercial use, but you must satisfy applicable laws and the requirements of retailers, carriers, marketplaces, and other recipients.
• No Site Attribution Required: The Service does not currently require a link or site credit on your product or packaging.

3. Pre-Print Testing & Verification

UniversalCodeMaker includes algorithmic checksum handling for supported formats and relies on its rendering libraries for error-correction encoding. Physical and workflow factors can still affect barcode scannability:

• Printer resolution, ink bleeding, or thermal print-head degradation.
• Substrate color, contrast ratios, and glossy/reflective laminate coatings.
• Encroachment into mandatory barcode "quiet zones" (margins).
• Barcode scanner hardware types (linear 1D CCD/laser vs. 2D camera imagers).

User Responsibility & Disclaimed Liability: You acknowledge and agree to print a physical test proof of your barcode or QR code and verify it with a standard optical barcode scanner and smartphone camera before proceeding with high-volume industrial printing, packaging production, or commercial distribution. UniversalCodeMaker and its operators shall bear no liability for packaging reprints, retailer chargebacks, inventory relabeling, delisting from third-party marketplaces (including Amazon, Walmart, or Google), or scanning failures resulting from improper print dimensions, low optical contrast, or substrate selection.

4. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use UniversalCodeMaker.com to:

• Generate QR codes or barcodes that direct users to phishing websites, malware downloads, illegal material, or fraud schemes.
• Use the Barcode & QR Scanner to read or copy codes you are not authorised to use (for example other people’s tickets, IDs, boarding passes or payment codes), or to reproduce a scanned code in order to impersonate its owner.
• Attempt to scrape, overload, or disrupt the availability of the web service.
• Misrepresent unauthorized retail barcodes as official GS1-assigned company prefixes when selling in commercial retail environments.

5. Trademarks, Brand Presets & Third-Party Standards

"QR Code" is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED. "Avery®" and specific Avery product numbers (such as 5160, 5163, and others) are registered trademarks of Avery Products Corporation / CCL Industries Inc. "GS1®", "EAN®", and "UPC®" are registered trademarks of GS1 AISBL. "Amazon®", "Amazon FBA", and "FNSKU" are registered trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. "Google®" and "Google Reviews" are trademarks of Google LLC. "WhatsApp®" is a registered trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. "UPI" (Unified Payments Interface) is a registered trademark of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). These names and standards identify third-party products, services or requirements. UniversalCodeMaker is independent and is not endorsed, sponsored by or affiliated with those organisations.

Third-Party Platform Disclaimers:

• Amazon FBA Compliance: UniversalCodeMaker is an independent barcode utility and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.com, Inc. Sellers are solely responsible for ensuring that printed FNSKU barcodes conform to current Amazon Seller Central packaging, dimension, and quiet zone specifications.
• Google Reviews Solicitation: UniversalCodeMaker compiles direct links to public Google review dialogs. UniversalCodeMaker does not verify, solicit, or manipulate customer reviews. Users are strictly responsible for complying with Google's Business Profile Review Policies and applicable FTC guidelines against deceptive endorsements or review gating.
• UPI & Payment Protocols: UniversalCodeMaker is an offline static code generator and is NOT a bank, payment aggregator, financial institution, or money transmitter. It does not handle funds, store bank accounts, or execute transactions. Generated QR codes encode open URI strings (upi://pay) interpreted solely by the user's mobile device and banking app. Users are responsible for verifying their own Virtual Payment Address (VPA) before printing signage.
• Barcode & QR Scanner Results: The Scanner decodes images and camera frames locally in your browser and shows the content exactly as it is encoded in the code. Links, payment requests, contact cards and other content found in scanned codes are created by third parties that we do not control or check. The Scanner does not verify whether a code, product, ticket, document or payment request is genuine. Always check a link’s address or a payment’s recipient before you open or pay it; you use scanned content at your own risk.
• Brand Presets & Logos: All third-party logos provided in presets (WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, PayPal, Bitcoin, UPI, etc.) remain the property of their respective trademark owners. When uploading custom center logos, you represent and warrant that you hold all necessary legal rights to reproduce such marks.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As-Is")

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely bug-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UniversalCodeMaker.com and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the Service.

8. Affiliate Links & Commercial Disclosures

UniversalCodeMaker contains outbound affiliate links to third-party marketplaces, specifically Amazon.com, for physical hardware recommendations such as thermal barcode printers, Avery label sheets, and 2D barcode scanners.
