• No Attribution Required: You are never required to link back or mention UniversalCodeMaker.com on your products or packaging.

3. Mandatory Pre-Print Testing & Verification

While UniversalCodeMaker implements strict algorithmic checksum verification (such as GS1 Mod-10 for EAN-13 and UPC-A, and ISO/IEC error correction algorithms), various physical factors can impact barcode scannability:

• Printer resolution, ink bleeding, or thermal print-head degradation.
• Substrate color, contrast ratios, and glossy/reflective laminate coatings.
• Encroachment into mandatory barcode "quiet zones" (margins).
• Barcode scanner hardware types (linear 1D CCD/laser vs. 2D camera imagers).

User Responsibility: You agree to print a physical proof of your barcode or QR code and verify it with a standard optical barcode scanner before proceeding with high-volume industrial printing or product packaging runs. UniversalCodeMaker is not responsible for packaging reprints, inventory relabeling, or scanning failures resulting from improper print dimensions or substrate selection.

4. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use UniversalCodeMaker.com to:

• Generate QR codes or barcodes that direct users to phishing websites, malware downloads, illegal material, or fraud schemes.
• Attempt to scrape, overload, or disrupt the availability of the web service.
• Misrepresent unauthorized retail barcodes as official GS1-assigned company prefixes when selling in commercial retail environments.

5. Trademarks & Third-Party Standards

"QR Code" is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED. "Avery" and specific Avery product numbers (such as 5160 and 5163) are trademarks of Avery Products Corporation. "GS1", "EAN", and "UPC" are trademarks of GS1 AISBL. References to these names and standards on UniversalCodeMaker.com are strictly descriptive for compatibility purposes and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
